Pay-per-mile EV tax: automatic eVED refunds will not arrive until 2030
The Autumn Budget keeps the 3p-a-mile Electric Vehicle Excise Duty on course for April 2028 and adds a mileage estimation tool and an opt-in connected-car service. But an automated refunds model is only promised by 2030, so for the first two years overpaid miles mostly stay as credit. Here is what that means in pounds.
