Budget 2026: £100m to cut on-street charging prices, but public charging VAT stays at 20%
The Treasury will spend £100m over two years to cut prices at lower-powered chargers near homes and has set up a taskforce on using home tariffs at public chargers. It has also written 20% VAT on public charging into law. We work out how much of the gap with home charging the £150 saving closes.
