Skoda Epiq UK price from £24,950, deliveries early 2027
Skoda's smallest electric SUV costs from £24,950 on the road, but the cheapest 40 version cannot be ordered until January 2027. The 55 versions that can be ordered start at £27,700.
Quick answers
- The Skoda Epiq starts at £24,950 on the road for the SE L 40, with Motoring Research quoting £24,090 as its headline price.
- Orders opened in July for the 55 versions, which start at £27,700 and qualify for the £1,500 Electric Car Grant, making the cheapest £26,200.
- The 52kWh Epiq 55 is rated at up to 272 miles WLTP, against 190 miles for the 37kWh Epiq 40.
- The Epiq 40 can be ordered from January 2027, and customer deliveries are expected in early 2027.
The Skoda Epiq starts at £24,950 on the road in the UK for the SE L 40, a price that The EV Report says matches the petrol Kamiq (The EV Report). Motoring Research quotes £24,090 as its headline figure (Motoring Research). The catch is timing: the cheapest car cannot be ordered until January 2027, and customer deliveries are expected in early 2027.
What you can order now is the larger-battery Epiq 55, from £27,700 before the £1,500 Electric Car Grant.
What does each Epiq trim cost?
The UK range has two trims, SE L and Edition, plus a First Edition offered from launch (Skoda UK). Prices are on the road and before the grant.
| Model | Battery (usable) | WLTP range | Price before grant |
|---|---|---|---|
| SE L 40 | 37kWh LFP | 190 miles | £24,950 |
| SE L 55 | 52kWh NMC | 272 miles | £27,700 |
| Edition 40 | 37kWh LFP | 190 miles | £27,700 |
| Edition 55 | 52kWh NMC | 272 miles | £30,450 |
| First Edition 55 | 52kWh NMC | 272 miles | £31,450 |
Skoda’s own UK pricing, The EV Report and Electrifying all list the SE L 40 at £24,950 on the road, while Motoring Research’s headline says £24,090. We could not find an official source for the lower figure, so use £24,950 as the price you would pay.
Why can you only order the bigger Epiq now?
Order books opened in July 2026, limited to the SE L and Edition trims with the 55 battery, and the smaller 40 battery follows later (Motoring Research). Skoda UK says the Epiq 40 can be ordered from January 2027, so the model on the headline price is the one furthest away.
The two cars differ in more than battery size: the Epiq 40 has a 135hp motor and a 37kWh LFP battery, while the Epiq 55 has a 211hp motor and a 52kWh NMC battery. That makes the 55 the car with the extra power as well as the extra range, which matters if you regularly carry passengers or load up for motorway trips.
The gap between the two also explains the pricing ladder. Moving from SE L to Edition adds £2,750 on either battery (£24,950 to £27,700 on the 40, £27,700 to £30,450 on the 55), while moving from the 40 to the 55 within a trim adds the same £2,750. In other words, the Edition 40 costs exactly the same as the SE L 55, so if range is the priority, the cheaper trim with the bigger battery is the better buy on paper.
Which Epiq models get the Electric Car Grant?
The SE L 55, Edition 55 and First Edition 55 are eligible for the £1,500 Band 2 grant, provided the final purchase price including options is under £42,000 (Skoda UK). That takes the SE L 55 from £27,700 to £26,200. The 40 versions were not listed as eligible in the sources we found, so do not assume the entry car receives it. See our eligible models list for updates.
How does the Epiq compare with other cheap EVs?
Against the petrol Kamiq on price, the Epiq 40 is level, which is unusual for a new electric car. Against other small electric cars, the picture is mixed: the entry Epiq has only 190 miles of range, so the real comparison is the SE L 55 at £26,200 after the grant with 272 miles.
| Choice | Price | Range |
|---|---|---|
| Epiq SE L 40 | £24,950 | 190 miles |
| Epiq SE L 55 after grant | £26,200 | 272 miles |
| Epiq Edition 55 after grant | £28,950 | 272 miles |

What this means for you
If you need a car this winter, only the Epiq 55 is an option, and even then deliveries are not expected until early 2027, so a car ordered now will not arrive soon. The SE L 55 at £26,200 after the grant is the best-value version in our view, since it adds 82 miles of claimed range over the 40 for £2,750 before the grant.
If budget matters more than range, wait for the 40 to open for orders in January 2027, but check whether grant eligibility is confirmed for it before you commit.
