Be.EV Charging Pass: £49 a month for 120kWh, or £89 for 250kWh

Be.EV has launched two monthly charging passes with a kWh allowance included. We work out the real cost per kWh, compare them with its 39p Flexi Pass and show who comes out ahead.

Quick answers

  • The Go Pass costs £49 a month for 120kWh and the Go Further Pass £89 a month for 250kWh.
  • Using the full allowance works out at about 40.8p per kWh on Go and 35.6p per kWh on Go Further.
  • Charging beyond the allowance costs 49p per kWh, and the passes only work on Be.EV chargers.
  • Be.EV's Flexi Pass is £13.99 a month for 39p per kWh at any time, so it is cheaper than Go below about 90kWh a month.
  • Be.EV puts the UK average pay-as-you-go price at 83p per kWh.

Be.EV has launched two monthly charging passes that bundle a kWh allowance into a fixed fee: the Go Pass at £49 for 120kWh and the Go Further Pass at £89 for 250kWh (Electric Drives). Used in full, that is about 40.8p and 35.6p per kWh, well below the 83p average pay-as-you-go price Be.EV quotes for the UK. The catch is that the passes work only on Be.EV chargers.

What the passes include

Both passes give a monthly allowance of charging credit. Anything beyond it costs 49p per kWh. The launch was reported on 30 September 2026 (Transport + Energy), and its updated Flexi Pass costs £13.99 a month for 39p per kWh at any time on a Be.EV charger.

The real cost depending on how much you charge

The headline rates only apply if you use everything. Our calculations from Be.EV’s published prices:

Public kWh a monthGo PassGo FurtherFlexi Pass
60kWh£49.00£89.00£37.39
90kWh£49.00£89.00£49.09
120kWh£49.00£89.00£60.79
150kWh£63.70£89.00£72.49
250kWh£112.70£89.00£111.49

On these sums, Flexi beats Go until about 90kWh a month, Go beats Flexi from there up to about 200kWh, and Go Further wins above about 200kWh.

How the passes compare with pay as you go

At the 83p average Be.EV quotes (Electric Drives), 120kWh costs £99.60, against £49 on Go. Even Zapmap’s lower August average of 77p per kWh for rapid and ultra-rapid charging, which we cover in our October charging prices report, would put 120kWh at £92.40. The comparison is only fair if Be.EV chargers are on your routes, because the passes only work there (carwow).

Our guide to EV charging subscriptions covers other plans, and cheap public charging options lists networks that undercut the average without a monthly fee.

Who comes out ahead

  • Drivers without home charging who use between about 90kWh and 200kWh of Be.EV public charging a month get the best value from Go Pass.
  • High-mileage drivers and rapid-charging heavy users do best on Go Further above about 200kWh a month.
  • Light public chargers are better on Flexi, or on pay as you go if no Be.EV site is nearby.
  • Home chargers who top up occasionally will rarely use an allowance, and unused kWh do not lower the fee. Our home charging cost guide shows how much cheaper your own charger can be.

Reading the small print

Three details matter before you subscribe. First, the allowance is credit that resets monthly, and Be.EV charges 49p per kWh once it is used up, so a heavy month on Go is still cheaper than pay as you go at 83p, but above about 200kWh it costs more than Go Further. Second, the effective rate rises sharply if you under-use: 60kWh on the Go Pass works out at about 81.7p per kWh, close to the 83p average. Third, Be.EV’s coverage is the limit. If your regular route relies on another network, you would need a second payment method anyway, so the saving applies only to the share of charging you do on Be.EV sites.

What this means for you

Add up your public kWh over the last two or three months, then check how many came from Be.EV sites. If you use fewer than 90kWh, take Flexi. Between 90kWh and about 200kWh, the Go Pass wins. Above that, Go Further does. If most of your charging is elsewhere, none of the passes will help.

How we test and where our numbers come from

Range figures are official WLTP combined values taken from manufacturer UK specification pages, with real-world estimates drawn from independent comparative testing. Prices are UK list prices at the time of the latest update. Tax, grant and charging-scheme figures come from GOV.UK and HMRC publications. We re-check every guide when pricing, specification or policy changes. Last checked 6 October 2026.

Frequently asked questions

How much do the Be.EV charging passes cost?

The Go Pass is £49 a month for 120kWh of charging credit and the Go Further Pass is £89 a month for 250kWh. Anything beyond the allowance is charged at 49p per kWh.

What is the real cost per kWh?

If you use the full allowance, £49 for 120kWh is about 40.8p per kWh and £89 for 250kWh is about 35.6p per kWh. Using less raises the effective price.

Do the passes work on other networks?

No. They work only on Be.EV chargers, so check that its locations suit your journeys before you subscribe.

Is the Flexi Pass better than the Go Pass?

It depends on use. Flexi costs £13.99 a month plus 39p per kWh at any time. By our sums it is cheaper than Go below about 90kWh a month and dearer above it.
