Kia EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT UK prices start at £48,695
Kia's three GT models all miss the Electric Car Grant, and the EV5 GT costs more than a Skoda Enyaq vRS. Here is what the extra pace buys and which one pays extra road tax.
Quick answers
- Kia's EV3 GT costs from £48,695, the EV4 GT from £49,345 and the EV5 GT from £54,295, with UK orders open since 1 October 2026.
- All three use an 81.4kWh battery with dual-motor all-wheel drive: the EV3 GT and EV4 GT make 215kW, the EV5 GT 225kW.
- Official WLTP ranges are 311 miles for the EV3 GT, 314 miles for the EV4 GT hatchback and 295 miles for the EV5 GT.
- None of the three qualifies for the Electric Car Grant, which has a £37,000 price cap.
- Only the £54,295 EV5 GT is above the £50,000 expensive car supplement threshold for electric cars, which adds £440 a year in years two to six.
Kia has set UK prices for the GT versions of its EV3, EV4 and EV5, starting at £48,695 for the EV3 GT. The EV4 GT hot hatch costs from £49,345 and the EV5 GT family SUV from £54,295, WhichEV reported. That puts all three well beyond the reach of the Electric Car Grant, and it makes the EV5 GT the only one of the trio that will pay the expensive car supplement on its road tax.
Orders opened on 1 October 2026, and Kia expects first customer deliveries before the end of the year, according to electrive. All three share an 81.4kWh battery and a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup, and all come with Kia’s seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty.
How much do the Kia EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT cost?
The prices below are on-the-road list prices, and there is no grant to deduct from any of them. Performance and range figures come from Electric Cars Report, Fleet News and Auto Express.
| Model | UK price (OTR, no grant) | Power | Torque | 0 to 62mph | WLTP range |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kia EV3 GT | £48,695 | 215kW (288bhp) | 468Nm | 5.7 sec | 311 miles |
| Kia EV4 GT | £49,345 | 215kW (288bhp) | 345lb ft (468Nm) | 5.6 sec | 314 miles |
| Kia EV5 GT | £54,295 | 225kW (about 301bhp) | 480Nm | 6.2 sec | 295 miles |
The EV3 GT and EV4 GT are close to identical under the skin: both make 215kW from the same 81.4kWh battery, and both reach 62mph in under six seconds. The EV4 GT is a tenth of a second quicker and goes slightly further on paper, with 314 miles WLTP against 311 miles.
The EV5 GT gets slightly more power at 225kW and 480Nm, but as the family SUV of the group it is the slowest, at 6.2 seconds to 62mph, and has the shortest official range at 295 miles. EV Powered reports that it also gets simulated gearshifts.
How big is the premium over a standard Kia?
This is where the GT badge gets expensive. When Kia launched the EV3 in the UK, it priced the EV3 Air Long Range, which uses the same 81.4kWh battery, at £35,995, according to the Kia UK press office. Against that launch price, the EV3 GT costs £12,700 more. That money buys a second motor, all-wheel drive and a 5.7-second 0 to 62mph time, but not a bigger battery.
Between the GT models themselves, the gaps are smaller. The EV4 GT costs just £650 more than the EV3 GT, so the choice between them comes down to body style rather than budget: the EV3 GT is a compact crossover, the EV4 GT a hatchback. The EV5 GT asks another £4,950 over the EV4 GT, for a larger family SUV body but less pace and range.

How do they compare with the Cupra Born VZ and Skoda Enyaq vRS?
Each GT model has an obvious rival, and on price the Kias do not undercut any of them.
| Kia GT model | Kia price | Comparison car | Its price | Kia premium |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EV3 GT | £48,695 | Kia EV3 Air Long Range (UK launch price) | £35,995 | £12,700 |
| EV4 GT | £49,345 | Cupra Born VZ (UK launch price) | £44,625 | £4,720 |
| EV5 GT | £54,295 | Skoda Enyaq vRS | about £51,600 | about £2,700 |
The EV4 GT’s closest rival is the Cupra Born VZ, which Cupra priced at £44,625 when it opened UK orders, according to Motor1. The Kia costs £4,720 more than that launch price, and for that it brings 215kW from two motors and an 81.4kWh battery. If £49,000 is more than you want to spend on a fast electric hatch, our comparison of the Peugeot E-208 GTi, Vauxhall Corsa GSE and Cupra Raval VZ covers the smaller, cheaper end of the class.
The EV5 GT has the harder job. What Car? lined it up against the Skoda Enyaq vRS, and Auto Express was blunt about the result: the Kia costs more than the Skoda, which starts at just over £51,600, while offering less power: 302bhp against the Enyaq vRS’s 335bhp.
Do the Kia GT models get the grant or pay extra road tax?
None of the three gets the Electric Car Grant, which has a £37,000 price cap. Even the cheapest, the EV3 GT, is £11,695 over that limit. Our guide to Electric Car Grant eligible models lists the cars that do qualify.
Road tax is where the trio splits. From April 2026, the expensive car supplement threshold for zero-emission cars rose to £50,000, and for 2026/27 the supplement is £440 a year on top of the £200 standard rate, charged in years two to six, according to the House of Commons Library.
| Model | List price | Against the £50,000 threshold | Supplement over five years |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kia EV3 GT | £48,695 | £1,305 under | £0 |
| Kia EV4 GT | £49,345 | £655 under | £0 |
| Kia EV5 GT | £54,295 | £4,295 over | £2,200 |
The EV4 GT has only £655 of headroom, so check the final list price of the exact car you order against the £50,000 line. Our expensive car supplement explainer sets out how the charge works.
Company car drivers should also expect a bigger Benefit in Kind bill than on a standard EV3 or EV4, because the tax is worked out as a percentage of the car’s list price. Our company car tax calculator will give you the monthly figure for each model.
Which Kia GT makes most sense?
We think the EV4 GT is the most convincing of the three. It is the quickest, its hatchback shape suits the GT treatment, it stays under the expensive car supplement threshold, and it costs only £650 more than the EV3 GT. The catch is that a Cupra Born VZ cost £4,720 less at launch, so test both before you sign. Auto Express has already published a review of the EV4 GT, which is worth reading before you order.
The EV3 GT makes sense if you prefer the crossover body. But a £12,700 premium over the EV3 Air Long Range’s launch price is a lot to pay for pace alone, with no extra battery capacity to show for it.
The EV5 GT is the hardest to recommend. It costs more than a Skoda Enyaq vRS, has the shortest official range of the three, at 295 miles, and adds £2,200 in extra road tax over five years. Kia’s seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty is a genuine counterweight, but unless you specifically want an EV5 with more power, the Skoda looks like better value.
There is no deadline pushing you to order now: none of the three relies on a grant that could run out, and first deliveries are due before the end of 2026.
