Why is the B10 selling?
Price. Leapmotor lists the B10 from £29,995 after a £1,500 Leap-Grant open to all retail customers, which keeps it under £30,000. The £31,495 on-the-road price applies without the grant; the separate B10 Hybrid EV range extender is priced at the same £31,495. The grant is self-funded by Leapmotor because its models do not qualify for the government’s Electric Car Grant, a point covered in our grant eligibility guide.
| Detail | Leapmotor B10 |
|---|---|
| Retail price | From £29,995 after Leap-Grant |
| Price before Leap-Grant | £31,495 on the road |
| Range | 270 miles |
| Peak DC charging | 168kW |
| 30 to 80% charge | 20 minutes |
Leapmotor’s own grant is one of several Chinese-brand discounts. BYD and MG have run similar offers.
How fast has Leapmotor grown?
The growth is steep because the base was tiny. Leapmotor sold 1,535 cars in the first nine months of 2025 and 13,283 in the same period of 2026, roughly nine times as many. September’s 3,943 is nearly 30% of that nine-month 2026 total in a single month, which shows how quickly volume has built since the brand reached the 1% mark. The test now is whether it can hold that share as rivals respond with their own discounts and as the plate-change rush fades.
What does Stellantis backing change?
Leapmotor sells through Stellantis, which gives owners access to an established dealer and service network rather than a new importer. That is a reassurance for private buyers weighing an unfamiliar brand, and likely part of why the B10 has done well at retail. We have not independently verified the size of the network, which Leapmotor has said is growing.
How does it compare with other Chinese brands?
Leapmotor’s 1.1% is small beside the volumes of established Chinese names. BYD, for example, hit 20,129 UK sales in September. Leapmotor is growing from a lower base, and the B10 is the model carrying the brand. Globally the company delivered a record 105,656 cars in September and 310,052 in the third quarter, according to CnEVPost. Our guide to Chinese EV brands puts it in context, and the smaller Leapmotor B03 shows where the range is heading.
What this means for you
If you are a private buyer with a budget around £30,000, the B10 now belongs on the shortlist next to the Skoda Elroq, the only EV that outsold it among private buyers in September. Compare like with like: the £29,995 price depends on Leapmotor’s own £1,500 grant, and 270 miles and 168kW charging are manufacturer figures. Ask about delivery times at your nearest dealer, since a brand growing this quickly can stretch availability.
How we test and where our numbers come from
Range figures are official WLTP combined values taken from manufacturer UK specification pages, with real-world estimates drawn from independent comparative testing. Prices are UK list prices at the time of the latest update. Tax, grant and charging-scheme figures come from GOV.UK and HMRC publications. We re-check every guide when pricing, specification or policy changes. Last checked 6 October 2026.
