Denza Z9 GT UK prices: £95,000 plug-in hybrid, £105,000 EV
BYD's luxury brand has opened UK order books for the Z9 GT shooting brake, with first EV deliveries due this quarter, the plug-in hybrid to follow later, and Flash Charging of up to 1,500kW on both versions.
Quick answers
- The Denza Z9 GT costs from £95,000 as the Super DM plug-in hybrid and from £105,000 as the fully electric version, with the EV open to order first and the hybrid to follow later.
- The EV has three motors producing 1,156PS and 1,210Nm, a 0-62mph time of 2.7 seconds and a 373-mile claimed range from a 122kWh battery.
- Flash Charging at up to 1,500kW is claimed to take the EV from 10 to 70% in five minutes and from 10 to 97% in nine minutes.
- The plug-in hybrid offers up to 126 miles of electric range and up to 500 miles in total, with 776PS and a 3.6-second 0-62mph time.
- First customer deliveries of the EV are due in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the plug-in hybrid joining later, so the full-speed charging only matters once the UK Flash network grows.
BYD’s luxury brand Denza has priced its first UK model, the Z9 GT shooting brake, from £95,000 for the Super DM plug-in hybrid and from £105,000 for the fully electric version (electrive). Order books are open for the EV and its first customer deliveries are due in the fourth quarter, which began on 1 October; the plug-in hybrid joins the range later. Both versions support Flash Charging, but the full-speed charging only helps if you can find a charger that offers it.
Which price is correct, £95,000 or £105,000?
Both. Early coverage split because the two prices belong to two different cars. EV Fleet World led with the £95,000 plug-in hybrid, while AM Online led with the £105,000 EV. If you want the electric car, budget for £105,000.
We have not found a source applying the Electric Car Grant to either price, so treat both as list prices. Our Electric Car Grant guide explains who qualifies.

Specifications from The EV Report and electrive. The plug-in hybrid is a hybrid, not an EV: it carries a petrol engine and its 126 miles of electric range is a manufacturer claim.
How fast does a Z9 GT charge?
Denza claims that at a 1,500kW Flash charger the EV goes from 10 to 70% in five minutes and from 10 to 97% in nine minutes, the second figure equal to 323 miles of WLTP range (electrive). Those are claims, and they need a charger of that rating.
BYD’s plan for 300 UK Flash chargers is covered in our BYD Flash Charging rollout report. Elsewhere, the car will charge at whatever each site can deliver, so check where you would actually plug in against our fastest charging electric cars ranking and the ultra-rapid hubs near you.
Is it a Taycan rival?
autoevolution and others pitch the Z9 GT as a Chinese answer to the Porsche Taycan, and its 1,156PS and 2.7-second sprint put it in that conversation on paper. The shooting brake body is the practical difference.
The harder question is brand. At six figures you are buying a badge as much as a spec sheet, and Denza has no UK history. BYD’s volume brand is established here, as our BYD UK range and prices guide shows, but a luxury buyer will want to see dealers and service support before committing. What this means for you
If you are tempted by the Z9 GT, decide first whether you want a plug-in hybrid or an EV: the £10,000 gap buys 380PS more, a 122kWh battery and a 373-mile range, but it also removes the petrol engine as a back-up. The hybrid’s 126 electric miles would cover most daily driving.
Do not pay extra for five-minute charging on the assumption that you will use it regularly. Until BYD’s chargers are near your route, the car will charge at ordinary ultra-rapid speeds. Ask about delivery slots when you order, since only the fourth-quarter start for the EV is confirmed and we found no date for the plug-in hybrid.
How we test and where our numbers come from
Range figures are official WLTP combined values taken from manufacturer UK specification pages, with real-world estimates drawn from independent comparative testing. Prices are UK list prices at the time of the latest update. Tax, grant and charging-scheme figures come from GOV.UK and HMRC publications. We re-check every guide when pricing, specification or policy changes. Last checked 6 October 2026.
